Logitech Unveils New Pro Series and Racing Series Accessories, Peripherals at LogiPlay 2024

Logitech’s ‘Celebration of Gaming Innovation, Community, and Play’ known as LogiPlay has kicked off in Paris. The event showcases their upcoming new hardware, including new mice, keyboards, headsets, and gaming steering wheels.

The LogiPlay event will take place in Paris, but Logitech will be hosting two local events here in Australia.

The activations will feature exclusive, hands-on previews of the latest product launches in Sydney and Melbourne. The Sydney event will take place at Westfield Bondi from September 18-29, while players in the south can check them out at Melbourne Central from September 18-22.

So what was announced? During the Logitech LogiPlay event, the new G915x keyboard, an update to the G915, was announced, as well as the new A50 Gen 5 headset with an improved microphone and Pro Graphene drivers.

Logitech also introduced new Pro series devices, including the new Pro X Superlight Dex mouse for right-handed gamers and the Pro X TKL Rapid keyboard with magnetic analog switches.

For racing drivers, Logitech is also announcing a new Racing Series (RS), featuring the RS Shifter & Handbrake, RS Wheel Hubs and RS QR Adapter, as well as new steering wheels, including a new “track” Wheel and a new round steering wheel.

G915x

The new Logitech G915x is their first update to one of their best-selling mechanical keyboards to date. The G915 is one of the first low-profile mechanical keyboards, but there is still room for improvement and now we have the G915x.

The G915x will be offered in wired and wireless options, as well as a TenKeyLess (TKL) model. The G915x offers tri-mode connectivity with Logitech’s ultra-fast LIGHTSPEED wireless, as well as wired Bluetooth and USB-C connectivity.

There are a lot of new features, but one of the biggest is an update to the switches, with a lower actuation point to reduce key travel. The new switches also now support custom keycaps so gamers can personalize them, although the included keycaps are made of double-shot PBT to reduce wear.

The G915x has a larger battery that can last up to 800 hours without lighting when connected to Lightspeed, or 36 hours with RGB lighting on.

The original volume roller, G-key, and media buttons are back, and Logitech is also offering nine programmable G-keys. Logitech is also bringing KeyControl to the G915x, offering custom mapping via G Hub.

You can pre-order the G915x today in black and white for the wireless version and black for the wired version, via LogitechG.com. Pricing for all three models has been announced:

Astro A50 5th generation

The new Astro A50 Gen 5 is an improved version of the previous generation, offering more features for multi-platform gamers.

The new Logitech A50 Gen 5 introduces Playsync Audio technology, which will enable seamless connectivity between three gaming systems, including Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC and more.

The base connects to the systems via USB-C, allowing you to switch between the audio on each system using a single button on the headset – a key difference compared to the Astro A50x model we reviewed earlier this year, which controls both audio and video signals.

The headset now uses Pro-G Graphene audio drivers that provide excellent sound clarity. Logitech has taken into account user feedback regarding the audio input and included a high-resolution 48 kHz microphone.

You can tune your headphones using the G HUB app on your computer or the Logitech G app on your iOS/Android device. This will give you access to an equalizer and presets that let you customize your headphones to your needs.

You can order the Logitech G ASTRO A50 5th Generation Wireless Gaming Headset + Base Station for $599.95 on logitechg.com. Orders will begin shipping in October.

Professional

As a leading brand, Logitech also announced the launch of the next generation of Pro series mice and keyboards.

The new PRO Series Gear includes the PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX gaming mouse, designed specifically for right-handed gamers, and the PRO X TKL RAPID gaming keyboard, Logitech’s first magnetic analog keyboard featuring adjustable actuation points and a quick trigger function.

Pro Superlight Dex

The PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX gaming mouse is designed for right-handed gamers. The new, asymmetrical design improves ergonomics and also includes new technological features.

The mouse uses Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED wireless technology with the Hero 2 sensor, which enables the mouse and receiver to communicate at 8 kHz—or 8,000 times per second. This provides exceptional accuracy and low latency, while large PTFE feet provide exceptionally smooth operation.
Logitech also added LightForce switches, which use an optical sensor for instant activation.

You can buy the PRO X Superlight 2 DEX in pink, black, and white for $299.95.

PRO X TKL RAPID

The new Logitech G Pro X TKL Rapid keyboard is an improved version of the gaming keyboard, equipped with analog magnetic switches that increase precision and speed.

The keyboard supports Logitech’s Key Priority and KeyControl integration via Logitech G-Hub. With Key Priority, users can see improved precision, speed, and control over in-game movements, while KeyControl allows gamers to assign multiple hotkeys to a single keystroke.

Professional gamers will also love the new feature that allows for quick and easy configuration of actuation points and quick trigger settings without having to install the G HUB software.

The PRO X TKL Rapid gaming keyboard is available in pink, black and white for $329.95 at the Logitech Store.

Race Series

Logitech racing wheels have always been at the top of many gamers’ wish lists, and the new Racing Series line is set to offer more options and customization.

The new range includes RS Wheel hubs that fit the recently announced F1-inspired “Track Wheel,” as well as the Round Wheel (without the flat bottom). Logitech has also introduced a new RS Shifter & Handbrake, offering a customizable unit that can work the way you like. There’s also a new RS QR Adapter for mounting almost any wheel you want.

Logitech G RS Wheel Hub

The new Logitech G RS Wheel Hub connects seamlessly to any Logitech G Direct Drive Base and features an easy-to-use quick-release mechanism that lets you quickly change wheels.

The wheel hubs feature adjustable gear levers that can be adjusted in width to suit different rim sizes. They can also be removed if you use the new RS Shifter & Handbrake system.

RS Track and the round wheel

The new RS Wheel Hub is matched to the new RS Track Wheel and offers a flat wheel designed with track racing in mind.

The Track Wheel is made from lightweight, low-carbon aluminum covered with a contoured TPE material that features a special micro-textured dot pattern for improved breathability and grip.

The Round Wheel is made from low carbon aluminum with an exterior covered with a durable silicone skin.

Both RS Track and Round Wheels attach to the Logitech G RS Wheel Hub using the included screws and Allen key.

RS QR adapter

If the new Track and Round wheels don’t suit your needs, the new RS QR adapter, made from high-grade aluminium, will allow you to fit almost any 70mm or 50.8mm PCD bolt pattern front or rear mounted handlebar – meaning you can walk into a SuperCheap shop and walk out with a handlebar ready to go.

The adapter features a quick release feature, allowing for easy wheel changes between races.

The adapter is designed to enhance TRUEFORCE feedback, and is also lighter and provides more detailed feedback for improved lap times.

RS gear shift and handbrake

The new RS Shifter & Handbrake is an innovative accessory for racing gamers. It allows you to switch between sequential gear shifting and handbrake function without the need for tools.

The unit includes versatile mounting options, so you can even place them side by side but mount them differently to make it easier to tell the two apart. The mount even includes a sturdy steel core table clamp and a height-adjustable handle.

Players can also fine-tune the RS gearbox and handbrake in the G HUB software.

You can pre-order the new one Race series starting today on LogitechG.com.

Momo Partnership

Logitech also announced a multi-year partnership with MOMO.

As part of the new partnership, Momo will be providing new steering wheels compatible with the new Logitech G RS Wheel Hub. Two wheel models were announced today – the SIM GT 320 and the SIM GT-Racer 290 – with more to come soon.

The new Momo wheels will be available in two sizes – 290mm and 320mm, as their name suggests – and are made from a 3mm black anodized aluminum plate, with a luxurious hand-wrapped microfiber handle.

No details were provided about the unannounced rims that will arrive next year, but the new SIM GT 320 and SIM GT-Racer 290 models are expected to be available in January 2025.
