Kneecap announces Perth venue upgrade to meet high ticket demand

Tickets for Irish rap group Kneecap’s concert in Perth are selling out so quickly that organisers have decided to move the show to a bigger venue.

The rappers will embark on a tour of Australia in March next year, with tickets for shows in Perth, Brisbane and Sydney selling out quickly, while the Melbourne show is sold out.

Due to even higher demand for tickets, Frontier Touring has announced upgrades to its Perth and Brisbane venues.

The Perth show on Monday 17 March has been moved from Freo.Social to Fremantle Metropolis.

Fans who purchased tickets for the original event do not need to take any action as all tickets for events at the new venues remain valid.

The group consists of West Belfast colleagues Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí, who combine satirical yet socially engaged lyrics of Irish and English songs with reality and absurdity.

The trio currently have their critically acclaimed, semi-fictionalised film Kneecap in Australian cinemas to rave reviews, and the obvious buzz surrounding the band continues unabated.

Western Australian film critic Ben O’Shea hailed it as one of the best films of the year.

“But you should also consider spending your hard-earned cash on a ticket to see Kneecap, even if it’s about an Irish hip-hop trio you’ve never heard of and probably won’t like their music,” he wrote.

“Why? Because it’s one of the best movies of the year, and if you miss it, you’re a fucking idiot.”
