Kwang Kyung Yoo: Important update on taekwondo instructor charged with triple murder in western Sydney

A taekwondo instructor accused of a triple murder in Sydney’s west will have police charges against him considered in the coming weeks.

Kwang Kyung Yoo, 50, was charged earlier this year with the murders of Min Cho, 41, and a seven-year-old child in North Parramatta, and the woman’s husband, Steven Cho, 39, at a Baulkham Hills apartment block.

It is alleged that Ms Cho and the child were murdered in February at a taekwondo studio where the boy was a student.

Police allege that Yoo, known to his students as Master Lew, left the bodies at the studio and then drove Ms Cho’s white BMW to her home in Baulkham Hills, where Mr Cho was stabbed multiple times.

The North Kellyville man has been in pretrial detention since his arrest at a hospital in February and has not yet pleaded guilty.

On Thursday, the Parramatta District Court announced that the case would be heard on October 21.

The purpose of the case conference is to assist in determining the charges filed by the accused and to determine any disputed facts.

It may also result in either party making a settlement offer.

New South Wales Police found Mr Cho’s body at a home on Watkins Rd. in Baulkham Hills, but two hours later police discovered the bodies of his wife and child.

Police say Mr Yoo arrived at Westmead Hospital with stab wounds to his chest, arms and abdomen and claim he was randomly attacked in a supermarket car park.
