Teenager rushed to hospital in critical condition after hammer-throwing accident in Adelaide’s inner-north

A young teenager has been rushed to hospital after sustaining critical injuries during a hammer-throwing accident in Adelaide’s inner-north.

Paramedics were called to St Albans Reserve at Clearview just before 5pm on Tuesday evening following reports a 13-year-old boy had sustained critical head injuries.

SA Police also attended the scene.

A South Australian Ambulance Service spokesperson said the boy was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

It is understood the young teenager belongs to a local athletics club that was using the field event facilities at the reserve.
